William Fred Goodwin, Sr., age 70, of Donalsonville, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 16, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Goodwin will be held on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Smith and Rev. Teresa Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow in Hebrew Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Jerry Wayne Cunningham, Rocky Phillips, Scott Richardson, Rudy Goodwin, Alex Goodwin, and Dusten Johnson serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation was held on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Goodwin was born in Dothan, Ala. on October 22, 1945 to William A. Goodwin, Sr. and Effie Lee Strickland Goodwin.  He served his country in the United States Army and was employed in manufacturing until his retirement.  He enjoyed woodworking and loved telling jokes.  Mr. Goodwin was a family man who truly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Alice Taylor Goodwin of Donalsonville; a son, Fred Goodwin Jr. of Donalsonville; two daughters, April Heard of Bainbridge,  and Allison Inlow of Dothan; two brothers, William A. Goodwin, Jr. of Bowling Green, Fla. and Donnie Ray Goodwin of Vada, Ga; and six sisters, Linda Houston of Mobile, Ala., Gwinda Limoge of Mobile, Janice Showalter of Ozark, Ala., Wanda Goodwin of Pansey, Ala., Lisa Bevins of Bowling Green, and Billie Jo Goodwin of Bowling Green. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.

Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Goodwin, Sr. and Effie Lee Strickland Goodwin, and one brother, William Henry Goodwin.
