Suzanne Galletta Knight

Suzanne was born in Astoria, Long Island, New York on Sept. 28, 1945. She graduated from New Dorp High School on Staten Island, New York in 1963.

Suzanne has made her home in Bainbridge since 1975. She retired from the Federal Government after 24 years of faithful service to include working at USDA Rural Development.

She worked with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed time with friends at the Decatur County Senior Center and elsewhere after retiring.

A devout Catholic, Suzanne never knew a stranger and was always willing to give. She passed peacefully in her home amongst family.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent “Jimmy” Galletta and Ann Barto Galletta; her former husband, T.L. Knight Jr.; her sister Mary Ann Flachofsky and her niece Donna Jones.

Suzanne is survived by her brother, Vincent Galletta Jr. of Berkeley, Calif.; her children Steve Knight, Sharon Knight, Eric Knight and David Knight; her grandchildren, Steve Knight Jr., Michael Knight and Ashley Tillis; her great-grand -children Michael Blaze Knight, Liam Alexander Kelley and June Elise Kelley and other relatives.

Always putting others ahead of herself, Suzanne found a way to keep giving even after death by donating her body for the advancement of Science.

Honor her by making memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
