Lady Cats on a roll after wins against Albany, Cook County

The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats hosted a pair of impressive Region 1AAAA road victories over the weekend.

On Friday they rolled past the Albany High School Lady Indians 61-21 and on Saturday they took the measure of the Adel’s Cook County High School Lady Hornets 73-20.

Nadia Marshall led a balanced scoring attack against Albany with a game high 24 points. Alex Russ was also in double figures with 10.

Rounding out the Lady Cats scoring column were Asia Gordon with 7, Kiarra King with 6, Tytianna Roseborough and Tyra Smart with 5 apiece, and Tianna Miller and

Carolyn Jackson with 2 apiece.

In Saturday nights big win over the Lady Hornets, the Lady Cats were led by Nadia Marshall with 23 points. She was followed by Asia Gordon with 8, Alexis Russ and Tytianna Roseborough, Carolyn Jackson and Zycheria Russ with 2 each.

“We really played well in both games over the weekend,” Lady Cats head coach Kelvin Cochran said. “Everybody got a chance to play and that is good.”

The Lady Cats are 4-0 in Region 1-AAAA play.

The Lady Cats will host the Dougherty High School Lady Trojans in a Region 1-AAAA Friday and travel to Albany for a Saturday Region 1AAAA game with the Monroe High School Lady Tornadoes.

The Lady Cats and Americus-Sumter County High Lady School Panthers are both undefeated in Region 1AAAA play and will meet Friday, February 5 in Americus possibly for the Region 1AAAA girls championship.

The girls Region 1AAAA champion will host the Region 1AAAA Tournament
