Bainbridge Bearcats on a hot streak with back-to-back weekend wins

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats posted a pair of Region 1-AAAA road victories over the weekend.

On Friday, they defeated the Albany High School Indians 62-49 and on Saturday they defeated Adel’s Cook County High School Hornets 70-30.

Leading the way for the Bearcats Friday against Albany were Tyree Crump and Myles Thomas with 16 points apiece. Trevon Shaw was also in double figures with 11.

The Bearcats, who are now 12-7 overall and 4-0 in Region 1-AAAA play, led the Indians 14-12 at the end of the first quarter. They were out front 23-20 at halftime and 44-36 after three quarters.

In Saturday night’s big win against Cook County in Adel, Crump took game scoring honors with 17 points. Thomas was again in double figures with 11. Trevon Shaw also put in 11.

Milton Gayle was also a major contributor to the Bearcats Saturday night victory

with 8.

“Friday night we did not shoot our best against Albany, but Saturday night everybody contributed on both end of the floor,” Bearcat head coach Rickey McCullough said. “Saturday night everybody made great contributions to the victory over Cook County.”

The Bearcats return to Region 1-AAAA action Friday when they host the Dougherty High School Trojans. They will take on the Monroe High School Tornadoes in a Region 1-AAAA game Saturday in Albany.
