James Mackin Howell

Mr. James Mackin Howell, age 85, of Milledgeville, passed away on January 7, 2016. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville on Saturday from 6-8 p.m..

Mr. Howell was a native of Recovery, Ga. and had made his home in Milledgeville since 1968. He was the son of the late Willie P. and Annie Whigham Howell and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Singleton Howell; brother, Willie Earl Howell; and Sister, Ann Howell Macy. Mr. Howell had retired from Engelhard and had been a volunteer at Walter B. Williams Recreation Dept. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports. He was a master carpenter and loved helping people. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his daughter, Denise Collins of Milledgeville; Sons, Kenneth (Donna) Howell of Milledgeville, and Mike (Lisa) Howell of Cumming; Grandchildren, Ryan Mathis, Brandon Mathis, Dylan Mathis, Mack Howell, Charlie Howell all of Milledgeville and Cody Howell of Cumming; Sisters, Martha Munford of Tallahassee, Fla., Bernice Munford of Bainbridge, and Virginia Parker of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Brother, John Howell of Monticello, Fla.
