Born September 7, 1921 in Attapulgus, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Edward C. Wimberly and Ola Mae Sapp Wimberly. She was a sales clerk for numerous pharmacies, including Grimsley’s and Lane’s Pharmacy in Bainbridge, Georgia and a housewife. She was a member of Blackjack Baptist Church, Bainbridge.

She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Benjamin Owens, her brother Thomas Edison Wimberly, Sisters, Rosa Lee Askew, Susie Barbree and two siblings who died at birth.

Affectionately known as ” MimMim”, she was easy going and got along with everyone. Her strong Christian faith allowed her to be the person she was. Throughout her life she lived through hard work and grace. It was by Grace that she left us and entered the eternity that she strived for. She will be missed by all the lives that she touched. Her passion was her morning coffee, being beach bound, and eating fried fish….not necessarily in that order. Minnie loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of the nieces and nephews. She lives on in our hearts. She will be remembered for her fun, quick wit and for her love of life.
