For multiple families in the Bainbridge area the space under the Christmas tree will be a little fuller thanks to Ryan Adams. His annual hot chocolate sale raised $2,700, which he donates to help families in need.

“We’ll give some of it to Secret Santa off of 101.9 the radio station and then we’ll go through churches and different ways,” Ryan said. “We’ll find people that are trying, but no matter how hard they try can’t get on their feet.”

This was the eighth time that Ryan has held his hot chocolate sale with the target amount and number of families helped increasing each year.

“I was nine and I wanted money for Christmas,” Ryan said. I raised money, made $70. I went to church that next day found out one of our church members their house burnt down and weren’t going to be able to give their kids a Christmas I ended up donating all the money I made an a PlayStation to their kids”

Although he fell short of his $3500 goal, Ryan and his family were still able to help multiple families have a brighter Christmas. The family worked to distribute the donations on Monday and Tuesday.
