Saturday night at home against Worth County’s Lady Rams, the Lady Cats took command in the second half. A 3-pointer by Nyla Perry put the Lady Rams up 19-17 at halftime.

Nadia Marshall, who was the Lady Cats scoring leader with 13 points, countered with a 3-pointer at the beginning of the fourth quarter to give the Lady Cats a 20-19 lead and they would never again trail.

Alexis Russ, who suffered an ankle injury in the game, joined Marshall in the double figure scoring column with 11 points.

“I hope Alexis’s ankle is not injured to badly,” Lady Cats coach Cochran said following Saturday night’s win over the Lady Rams. “She is a real strong competitor and wanted to play through the pain, but I took her out because I knew how valuable she would be to us in our games with Thomas County Central and Cairo.”

They returned to action Tuesday, traveling to Thomas County for a game against the Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets. On Friday they will take on the Cairo High School Syrupmaids in Cairo.
