Karla Gail Fletcher, 59, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015 at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewitt Phillips and Rev. Ron Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Brian Palmer, Jerry Manley, Jeff Summerlin, Ronnie McMillan, Timmy Williamson, and Tommy Lashley serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at

Karla was born December 16, 1955 in Bainbridge, GA the daughter of Thurman Rentz and Helen Johnson Rentz. She lived most of her life in Decatur County and was a member of Christian Faith Church.

Karla chose to be service oriented because of her love of people, especially children. She was a certified nursing assistant, a cosmetologist and a dental hygienist. She enjoyed the outdoors where she spent time gardening, golfing, fishing, raising chickens, and watching the waves roll in at the beach. If she had to be indoors, you could find her shopping or dancing.

Survivors include her son, William Gregory Fletcher and his wife Tammy of Bainbridge; her mother, Helen Johnson Palmetto of Lake Seminole; her siblings, Karen Lynn Rentz of Brinson, Tami Rentz of Albany, Kimberly Palmetto of Reynoldsville, Harold Rentz of Brinson, Tracy Smith of Bainbridge, and Stacy Jernigan of Alapaha; her grandchildren, Reilly Fletcher, Dalton Fletcher and Madison Fletcher; her nieces, Karissa Lynn Bono and Cara Mitchell and her special friend Ronnie Lambert. Karla was preceded in death by her father and her son, David Ray Fletcher, Jr.
