Two injured in Thursday night shooting

At 10:52 p.m. Thursday a 911 call was made to Bainbridge Public Safety reporting a shooting at 916 Japonica Drive.

BPS investigator Mark Esquivel stated that BPS currently has two suspects in custody identified as Ray Lee Jones Jr., 30, and Rayvon Moten, 24. Following the cooperation of one of the suspects, BPS was able to recover both of the guns used in the shooting.

According to Julie Harris, community affairs director for the City of Bainbridge, two men arrived at the house looking for someone they believed was inside the house.

After they began yelling for the person to come outside, two people from inside came out and said the person that they were looking for was not at the house. At that time one of the men opened fire with a handgun.

Two people inside the house were injured in the shooting. A female suffered a hand injury and was taken to Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge and a man was Life Flighted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

A Glock .40 Caliber Pistol and a .380 Semi-automatic used in the shooting have been recovered.

No update has been given on either of the victims’ conditions and BPS is not releasing names at this time.
