The Bainbridge High School Bearcats basketball team evened their season record at 2-2 with an 81-68 victory over the Colquitt County Packers Tuesday night in Moultrie.

Leading the way for the Bearcats was Tyree Crump with a game-high 26 points. Joining him in the Bearcats double figure scoring column were Devontae Jones with 17, Trevon Shaw with 15 and Donte Williams with 12. Camron Singletary was high for the Packers with 19.

Bearcats head coach Rickey McCullough said that while his team played hard and well, they are still committing to many turnovers.

“Turnovers and missed free throws are hurting us right now, but we are working hard in practice to correct both,” McCullough said. “It will be critical that we hold onto the ball and make free throws as we go into our important upcoming stretch of games. Only the second games against Region 1-AAAA teams will count in the Region 1-AAAA standings.”

The Bearcats returned to action Friday when they traveled to Albany to take on the Region 1-AAAA Westover High School Patriots. They will host the Region 1-AAAA Worth County High School Rams tonight at the Bainbridge High School gymnasium.

“Our players always take a lot of pride defending their home court, and when we are at home the fans really get behind us,” McCullough said.
