Henry Paul Temples, Sr., age 85, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Sunday evening, December 6, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Temples were held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Ga. with Dr. Gary Smith officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Brad Williams, Jason Rogers, Chase Grant, Trey Temples, Billy Temples, Michael Temples, Chris Jackson, and James Taylor serving as active casketbearers.  The men of Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church and neighbors served as honorary casketbearers, with Masonic rites being given at the cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening, December 8, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Temples was born in Jakin, Ga. on July 23, 1930 to Earnest Temples and Florence Hunt Temples. He was a member of Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #83. Mr. Temples was a Deacon at Hammock Springs and a past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge. He worked for many years as a mechanic.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Paul Temples and his wife Lajuanna of Bainbridge, Ga.; four daughters, Chris Pongerayter and her husband Mike of Northport, Ala., Kattie Rogers and her husband Roy of Donalsonville, Lannie Grant and her husband Edward of Donalsonville, and Rebecca Thomas and her husband Alan of Bainbridge; two brothers, Wesley Temples and his wife Betty of Donalsonville, and Carl Temples and his wife Shirley of Ocoee, Fla.; two sisters, Irene Cobb of Colquitt, Ga. and Bernest Jones of Ocoee; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Temples of Wildwood, Fla. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brad Williams, Jason Rogers and his wife Diana, Chase Grant and his wife Alicia, Suzanne Grant, Kristin Phillips, Trey Temples, Heather Temples, Tara Reaves and her husband Kyle, Jarrod Bray, Cody Helms, Alex Morris and her husband Jason, and Calli McMillan; as well as his great grandchildren, Brinley, Sophie, Austin, Lindsay, Peyton, Sawyer, Forrest, Anna, Emma, Tripp, Makalah, Lily, Ryleigh, and Emoree.

Mr. Temples was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Temples and Florence Hunt Temples; his wife, Evelyn Jones Temples; and two brothers, Johnny Temples and Tom Temples.

Evans Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
