Daisy Louise Richardson
Mrs. Louise Richardson, 100, of Colquitt died Friday, October 30, 2015, at Miller County Hospital. Funeral services were Sunday, November 1, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Harris officiating. Interment followed at Gordon Cemetery with Kent Richardson, Thad Richardson, Bobby Richardson, Jr., Tony Richardson, Kenneth West, and Buddy Lowe serving as active pall bearers. Visitation was Sunday, November 1, 2015, from 2-3 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home.
Daisy Louise Whitehead was born in Laurens County, Georgia (Dublin) to James Oscar Whitehead and Ola Theresa Clark Whitehead on March 20, 1915. She worked in a dime store between finishing school and marrying Francis Emory Richardson (4/1/1914-5/25/2005). They had five sons: Bobby Emory, Gordon Clark, Thomas Ansley, David Patton (3/30/1945-3/13/2005), and Philip Michael. She has been an active member of New Salem since 1955 when her family moved their membership from White Plains FWB Church in Lucille. After raising her family, she worked in Wilkin’s Dept. Store from 1965-1977.
She is survived by four sons, Bobby (Beverly) Richardson of Colquitt, Gordon Richardson of Colquitt, Tommy (Patricia) Richardson of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Phillip (Tina) Richardson of Bainbridge; one daughter-in-law, Allie Mae Richardson of Colquitt; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Richardson, and one son, David Richardson.
