Mary Cofty Coleman, 85, of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean and Rev. Lynn Roberts officiating. A private graveside service will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with John R. Cofty, Jr., Patrick Cofty, Douglas Cofty, Eric Cofty, Kevin Lewis, Vic Fleet and Bud Tillman serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Morningside Baptist Church and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Coleman was born November 1, 1929 in Columbus, Ga., the daughter of James Perry Cofty and Vera Powell Cofty. She was a graduate of Brinson High School Class of 1946 and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Mrs. Coleman was a retired nurse, having worked with many doctor’s offices including Dr. Earl Dupree, Dr. R.F. Wheat, Dr. Edwin Griffin, and Dr. Phil Todaro, and the Visiting Nurses Association of Bainbridge.

Survivors include her children, Mike Williams and his wife, Eve, of Vienna, Ga., Jesse H. “Buz” Whitley, Jr. and his wife, Missy, of Brinson, Ga., and Gloria Williams Massey and her husband, Kenneth, of Donalsonville, Ga.; her grandchildren, Todd Massey, Brittani Kimbrel, Jessica Pipkin, Jenna Williams, Jarret Williams, Chris Whitley, Zack Whitley and Kaitlyn Whitley; her great-grandchildren, Teel Massey, Karsyn Massey, Kole Kimbrel, Flint Kimbrel, Cade Pipkin, Jax Pipkin, Brooks Pipkin, Jade Demonbreun, Madison Whitley, McKenna Whitley, Cam Whitley and Laila Whitley; her siblings, John R. Cofty  and Donald P. Cofty, both of Brinson.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Miller Williams, Jesse H. Whitley, and Herbert L. Coleman; and her brothers, Billy Cofty, Bobby Cofty, Cooley Cofty and Allen Cofty
