Georgia Poetry Circuit poets to speak at BSC on Wednesday

As part of the Third Carter Arts and Lecture Series and the Georgia Poetry Circuit, two poets will be speaking on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center Solarium at Bainbridge State College. The event is free and open to the public.
Margot Schilpp was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1962. She is the author of three volumes of poetry, all published by Carnegie Mellon University Press: Civil Twilight (2012), Laws of My Nature (2005) and The World’s Last Night (2001).
Her poems have appeared widely in literary magazines, and she has been awarded residencies at Yaddo, the MacDowell Colony and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Currently, she teaches at Southern Connecticut State University and Quinnipiac University.
Jeff Mock is the author of Ruthless, winner of the Three Candles Press Open Book Award in 2010. His poems have also appeared in numerous literary magazines, including The Atlantic Monthly, The Georgia Review, The Iowa Review, Shenandoah and The Sewanee Review.
He teaches in the M.F.A. program at Southern Connecticut State University.
As husband and wife, Mock and Schilpp live in New Haven, Conn., with their two daughters.
