The number of employers who will participate in a career expo in Decatur County on Wednesday has grown to nearly 20.

The Bainbridge/Decatur County Career Expo will be held from 3-6 p.m., in the Charles H. Kirbo Center at Bainbridge State College.

“Together with our various partners, Bainbridge State College is proud of the role we play in promoting economic development here in southwest Georgia,” said Dr. Richard Carvajal, BSC President. “By co-hosting this Career Expo, we can even further assist the community by bringing employers directly to our students and other potential future employees.”

More specifically, some of the jobs the employers will be hiring for include RN, LPN, CNA, Computer Drafting, Tool & Die Technician, 911 Communications Operator, Marketing Analyst, Legal Assistant, Security Guard, Office Manager, Electrician Apprentice, Electronics & Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Mechanic and Machine Operator and many more.

“After a prolonged recession, it is clear that many companies here in our region are actively hiring again,” added Carvajal.  “Getting those companies the qualified workers they need is good for those businesses, our overall economy, and, of course, for those whom they will hire.”

Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.
