It’s taken 18 months, but the Hampton Inn on Tallahassee Highway is no longer “under construction” and is welcoming guests.

Hotel manager Leslie Bernier said the Hampton Inn is one of the first buildings in the area to feature the Forever Young Initiative. The interior design is very clean, crisp and modern, Bernier said.

“As you go into the rooms everything floats, the shelving floats, the vanities float,” Bernier said.

Perhaps the most unique part of the building is the art hanging on the walls. All 71 rooms, the lobby and down the halls feature photography from local artists.

The photographers featured are Lauren Turner, Debra Johnson, Jessica Cannon, Joy Key, Eldon Eckerd, Jacquie Wingate and John Monroe.

“I’m just extremely excited to have it open and very grateful to all the people who contributed their artwork,” Bernier said. “It has been extraordinary. Everybody who has been by has been very complimentary of it.”

A hotel stay comes with complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, a work out center and an outdoor pool.
