Lady Cougars pounce back-to-back opponents

Coach Erwin Harrell’s Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars soccer team improved their Georgia Independent Schools Association Region 2 record to 9-1 and their overall mark to 14-2 with Thursday and Friday road 3-0 victories over the First Presbyterian Christian Academy Lady Highlanders in Hinesville and the Memorial Day School Lady Matadors in Savannah.

In the match with the Lady Highlanders the Lady Cougars won the first set 25-9, won the second set 25-12 and won the third set 25-14 and in the match with the Lady Matadors the Lady Cougars won the first set 25-8, won the second set 25-5 and won the third set 25-11.

Statistical leaders against the Lady Highlanders were Kaitlyn Holcombe with 11 kills, Kelsey Harrell with 10 kills and Abigail Mills with 6 kills. Sarah Castoro had a 100 percent serve percentage converting 14 of 14 and Lindsey Duke had a 94 percent serve percentage converting 16 of 17. Abigail Mills had 7 ace serves, Sarah Castoro had 12 digs, Kelsey Harrell had 8 digs and Lindsey Duke had 26 assists.

Statistical leaders against the Lady Matadors were Kelsey Harrell with 8 kills, Kaitlyn Holcombe with 5 kills, Sarah Castoro with a 100 percent serve percentage converting 19 of 19 and 15 ace serves and Lindsey Duke with 15 assists.
