JV football improves to 3-0

The Bainbridge High School junior varsity Bearcats football team improved their record to 3-0 with a 26-0 Thursday victory over the Early County High School junior varsity Bobcats Thursday in Blakely.

Running back Dalvin Spivey ran a sweep around the right side for 45 yards and a touchdown to give the Bearcats an early 6-0 lead. Quarterback Mark Loeffler  increased the advantage to 12-0 when he ran 65 yards for a touchdown.

Quarterback Mark Loeffler broke loose for 65 yards and a touchdown later in the first quarter to give the Bearcats a 12-0 halftime advantage.

In the second quarter Markel Broadnsx ran eight yards for a touchdown and Blake Green kicked the extra point increasing the Bearcats lead to 19-0.

Alex McGiven scored from 15 yards out for the Bearcats final touchdown in the fourth quarter and Green again booted the extra point.

Coach Larry Cosby said he thought the junior varsity Bearcats played extremely well in Bainbridge.

“The backs ran hard and threw well and the linemen did a good job of blocking,” and tackling,” he said.

The junior varsity Bearcats will return to action Thursday, October 8 when they travel to Thomas County for a 5 p.m. game with the Thomas County Central High School junior varsity Yellow Jackets.
