High-powered offense sends Bainbridge J.V. to a win

A 20-yard first quarter touchdown pass from quarterback Mark Loeffler wide receiver Jean Jenty and a 35-yard second quarter touchdown run by running back Lerone Broadnax powered the Bainbridge High School junior varsity Bearcats to a 20-0 road victory over the Thomasville High School junior varsity Bulldogs on Thursday.
Bearcats running backs coach Larry Cosby, who works with the junior varsity, said he thought the team played hard and well in the game.
“The game lasted only two quarters, but we continually moved the ball well both on the ground and through the air,” Cosby said. “I like the strong balance our junior varsity Bearcats are displaying. Loeffler is throwing well, Lerone Broadnax is running hard and our offensive line is doing a solid job of blocking for them.”
Cosby also said the Bearcats defense also did a solid job of shutting down the Thomasville’s offense.
The junior varsity Bearcats will return to action Thursday, Sept.17, when they travel to Cairo for a 5 p.m. game with the Cairo High School junior varsity Syrupmakers. On Thursday, Sept. 24, they will travel to Blakely to square off against the Early County High School junior varsity Bobcats.
