A Bainbridge man was arrested Sunday morning after officers responded to multiple prowler calls and found him in possession of methamphetamines.
Jason Guy Sapp, 32, of Bainbridge, was arrested and charged with loitering or prowling, controlled substance – possession of methamphetamines and controlled substance – possession of drug related objects.
Around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Bainbridge Public Safety officer Jason Barlow responded to a report of a prowler in the area of Libby Street, with reports that someone was trying to break into a house. Barlow did not find anyone in the area, according to a BPS incident report. Barlow was dispatched to the same home just after 2 a.m. regarding a prowler when the 911 caller stated he saw someone running from behind his apartments toward Pine Street. Again, Barlow did not find anyone.
Around 5:30 a.m., the same 911 caller reported that two subjects were trying to break into the home, one wearing a mask and holding a flashlight, and that the two ran off in different directions, one south on College Street and one north toward Mitchell Street.
BPS PSO Humberto Dean located one subject that the 911 caller identified as one of the offenders, according to the incident report.
Sapp was searched, and officers found two flashlights and a hunting mask inside his backpack and an open pocketknife, four syringes, a plastic ¼ tablespoon, and a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine on his person.
