A graveside service for Mr. George (Bubba) Mayberry Jr., 75, will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery, located on E. College Street, Bainbridge, Ga.
Mr. Mayberry was born November 20, 1939, in Bainbridge
to the late George Mayberry Sr. and Hattie Mae Wilson Mayberry. He passed away July 19, 2015 in Sacramento, California.
He grew up in Decatur County and attended Hutto High School in Bainbridge and James Weldon Johnson School, Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated in 1959 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
His occupation was as a driver for the Albany Herald newspaper, a bus driver for the New York City Transit Authority and the Golden Gate Transit Authority in Sacramento, California.
Later in his years he married Zanida Mayberry of American Canyon, California.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Zanida Mayberry; four daughters, Georgette Mayberry of Sacramento, Cheryl Fairchild of Stanford, Conn., Caprice Mayberry Childs (Marvin), Latrice Mayberry Olson (Harlen), both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepdaughter, April Mayberry; a sister Jeanette Mayberry Smiley of Bainbridge; two brothers, Charles Hall of Queens, N.Y., Earnest Cohens of Florida; one granddaughter Antwanette Page of Sacramento; an uncle James Mayberry; special friends, Jerome Dixon and Terry Mangram and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will truly miss him.
He was predeceased by one son, Christopher Mayberry.
Blue Oaks Crematorium and Burial Services of Roseville, Ca. was in charge. Special thanks to Collins Funeral Home, Bainbridge for their help in local arrangements.
