Coach Yvette Green’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country teams are preparing for their upcoming season.

Last season, the Bearcats finished second in Region 1-AAAA and the Lady Cats finished fourth in Region 1-AAAA. Both teams advanced to the State Class AAAA Tournament in Carrollton where they were very competitive.

Four returning seniors, Brenden Greene, Perry Waddell, Grayson Graham, Nour Hasona and Bennett Enfinger, will lead the Bearcats this season.

The Bearcats and Lady Cats will begin preparation for the season with 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday practice sessions at the Bainbridge High School track.

“We know that some of our biggest Region 1-AAAA challengers this will be the four Albany Schools,” Greene said. “The Westover High School Patriots, who won the Region

1-AAAA championship last fall, should be strong again and so should Albany’s Monroe High School Tornadoes, Dougherty High School Trojans and Albany High School Indians.”

The annual Bearcat and Lady Cat Invitational Meet will be Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Bainbridge High School track.

“We always enjoy hosting our invitational meet,” Greene said. “The competition is always strong and we always enjoy defending our home turf.”
