Myron R. Prevatte

Mr. Myron R. Prevatte, 87, of Whigham,  passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.  Funeral services will be private.

Mr. Prevatte was born on December 17, 1927, in Whigham, to the late Robert Harvey Prevatte and Clyda Worn Prevatte.  On July 7, 1999, he married Edith Moore Prevatte, who survives.  He served his country in the United States Navy and was a defense contractor with the federal government.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Whigham.

Survivors include: wife, Edith Prevatte of Whigham; step-children, Chris Smith of Anaheim, Calif., Mike Powell (Donna) of Oldsmar, Fla., Richard Powell (Donna) of Pelham, Lynne Byrd (Jeff) of Thomasville, Tony Powell (Lisa) of Cairo, Leigh Fuduloff (Mike) of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren, Christy Weltman (Jonathan) of Ponce Inlet, Fla., and Richard Erickson of Ponce Inlet; great-grandchildren, Tabatha Smith and Jessica Smith of Ponce Inlet.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, R.H. Prevatte, Carl Prevatte; sister, Lyda P. Watkins; step-brothers, William E. Duncan, Delmar Duncan, John F. Duncan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Prevatte’s memory to: Archbold Foundation, Attention-Vann Middleton, Designate-Hospice of Southwest Georgia, Bainbridge Division, 910 S. Broad Street, Thomasville, GA, 31792.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
