For many people, it can be tough going back to college. Life can get in the way—leaving prospective students with questions about how to get back into the classroom.
Bainbridge State College’s Health Sciences and Professional Studies (HSPS) division is providing a way for individuals to get back into the classroom by offering Marketing/Management program courses on Saturdays beginning in August.
Classes will meet once a week on Saturday mornings at the Shotwell Education Center on 315 S. Boulevard Drive.
The program is conveniently structured to meet the needs of its students who will take two classes per semester in the fall and spring with only one class in the summer. Classes are on an eight week format. Most of the classes will be hybrid, which means classes meet once on Saturday in addition to online coursework. A few of the classes will be Web courses with no Saturday class during the eight week period.
Upon successful completion, students will earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Marketing and Management, diploma is Applied Marketing and Management with two Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC).
The Dean of Health Sciences and Professional Studies (HSPS), Kathy Ketterer, explained that the program was specifically designed to help working adults.
She said, “It’s a great way to go back to school—and since it will be a cohort going through the program, relationships will be formed. If you are afraid to go back to school, start with people in similar situations and finish the program together.”
Registration for the Saturday cohort is currently open. The program is eligible for financial aid. A FASFA form must be completed.
To register for the fall semester, call the Office of Admissions at (229) 243-6920 or visit BSC’s One Stop Shop located in the Student Services Building to talk with a counselor. Fall semester begins August 19.
