Irene P. Thornton Lewis, 90, of the Delwood Community, died Saturday, July
4, 2015 at her residence.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Delwood
Baptist Church.  Rev. Andy Hall and Rev. David Pickering will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers are Darin Singleton, Chris Caraway, Will Caraway,
Joey Griffin, Brian Hurst and Jeffrey West.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
Born January 26, 1925 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late
William Thomas Pollock and Leila Crosson Pollock.  Mrs. Lewis was a
seamstress, homemaker and member of Delwood Baptist Church.  She enjoyed
attending the “Hopefuls” at Hopeful Baptist Church.  She was preceded in
death by her sons, Cecil Thornton and Mark Thornton and her husbands,
William C. Thornton and W.B. Lewis, seven brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Dianne T. Singleton of the Delwood
Community and Joy T. (Terry) Caraway of Camilla; daughter-in-law, Glenna
G. Thornton of the Delwood Community; one sister, Dathalean Parrish of
Climax; grandchildren, Darin (Anne-Marie) Singleton, Rhonda S. (Joey)
Griffin, Cecile Thornton, Cindy Thornton, Charla T. (Jeffrey) West,  Chris
(Tanya) Caraway, Will (Lisa) Caraway and Jill C. (Brian) Hurst;  and 15
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., one hour prior to the service, July 7,
2015 at Delwood Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Delwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 480 Delwood
Church Road, Camilla, Ga.  31730.
