Alice Ellen Bryant Morton, 80, of Climax, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at her residence.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ellis Hardwick and Pastor Jerry Harrell officiating. Her nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at

Alice Ellen was born March 3, 1935 in Climax, the daughter of John Hoyt Bryant and Ernie Rosena Kelley Bryant. She worked as an LPN and retired with 17 years of service at the Miller County Hospital and Nursing Home. Alice loved her family, especially her grandchildren, even though her nieces and nephews would argue this fact as each of them thought they were the favorite. Mrs. Morton was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Donald Ray Morton, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Martinez, Ga.; her siblings, Thomas Hoyt Bryant and his wife, Betty, of Climax, Harry Calton Bryant and his wife, Jean, of Climax, Sandra B. Copeland and her husband, George, of Climax, Sharon B. Ingram of Climax, and Brenda B. Hodges and her husband, Charles, of Carrolton, Ga.; her grandchildren, Ash T. Morton, Cynthia D. Morton-Taylor and Jonathan C. Morton; her great-grandchildren, Lila Jane Morton, Georgia Raye Morton, Rylan Taylor and Halyn Taylor; her other special son, Jody Lane; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Donald R. Morton, Sr.; her son, John W. Morton; her siblings, Colin O. Bryant, John D. Bryant, Richard A. Bryant and a brother-in- law Charles Ingram.
