Dera Mae Adams Bostick passed away peacefully Friday, June 12, 2015. Mrs. Bostick was born in Cotton, Georgia, in  Mitchell County on December 22, 1918 to her parents Hansel J. and Minnie Chason Adams.

She was a long-time member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Vada, Georgia. Mrs. Dera Mae touched lives of so many in Mitchell County where she began her teaching career at Hopeful Elementary School and after that school closed, she continued teaching in Camilla where she retired after 42 years of service.

Mrs. Bostick was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elton Dewitt (Pete) Bostick and her grandson, Reggie Cleve Bostick Jr.; her sisters, Donita Adams, Deloras Jester, Doris Rentz and brothers, Dewey and Devon Adams.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Bostick Warnell and son-in-law, Frederick of Richmond Hill, Ga., a son, Reggie C. Bostick and daughter-in-law, Jenny of Camilla; Three grandchildren, Kiley Bostick of New York, NY., Kristin and Morgan Williams of Charleston S.C., Camille and Howard Morrison III of Savannah Ga., and five great-grandchildren, Emma, Jim Reynolds and Grace Morrison, Kahrs and Charles Morgan Williams.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Vada Sunday June 14th with visitation from 2 to 3 pm at the church with services at 3 and burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Community Foundation of South Georgia (Cleve Bostick Memorial Foundation) P.O. Box 2654, Thomasville Ga. 31779, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, or your favorite charity.
