Bainbridge High School Bearcats rising senior guard Tyree Crump has been named an ESPN Top 100 basketball recruit for the coming season.
Crump, who has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, averaged 22.6 points a game, 4.7 rebounds a game, 3.3 assists a game and 1.8 steals a game while earning first team All-Region 1-AAAA, first team All-State Class AAAA and first team All Area honors and being named his teams best 2014-2015 all around player at the Bearcats awards banquet.
Bearcats head coach Rickey McCullough said Crump hustled and played hard every night.
“Tyree is very deserving of his ESPN top 100 selection and all his other honors,” the Bearcats coach said. “We are looking for him to have another outstanding season as a senior.”
Crump said he verbally committed to Georgia because he liked Bulldog head coach Mark Fox’s up-tempo play on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.
ESPN describes Crump as a true shooting guard who is aggressive to score and can get to the rim and finish on the break. They further point out that he can knock down open threes off the catch or rhythm dribble and beat his man with a quick crossover dribble.
