The Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA Barracudas swim team opened their season Saturday with a strong third place finish in the 12-team Tift-area Tidal Wave Invitational Meet.

Barracudas coach Heather Battenberg said all of her swimmers dropped their times and scored points by finishing in the top 16 in their events.

“Our swimmers scored points in a total of 55 individual events,” Battenberg said. “Overall team scores were determined by combining the points earned through relays. We had eight relays competing in the meet. Everyone who swam did an amazing job and contributed to our third place finish.”
