Mr. Stephen Jason Nixon, 37, of Colquitt, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Colquitt United Methodist Church with Rev. Rebecca Duke-Barton and Rev. Cory Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mr. Nixon was a member of Colquitt United Methodist Church and was employed with Albany Tractor Company. He was a member of the 1996-1997 East Central Community College Football team in Meridian, Mississippi, the Northwestern Oklahoma State University National Championship Football Team in 1999, and in 2009 he was inducted into Northwestern Oklahoma State University Sports Hall of Fame. Above all Jason loved being on a baseball or football field coaching children, especially his own.

He is survived by his wife, Niki Masters Nixon of Colquitt; one son, Cade Nixon of Colquitt; mother, Cathy Nixon (Robby Haire) Pellerin of Colquitt; father, Steve (Hazel) Nixon of Fayetteville, NC; father and mother-in-law, Mickey and Angie Masters of Colquitt; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.

Sheffield Funeral Home, Colquitt, is in charge of arrangements.
