The Legacy Award was established in 2012 to recognize individuals for their promotion of Memorial Hospital Foundation, Inc.

Bill J. Jones was vital in establishing and promoting the Foundation for the 23 years he served on this Board. He was chosen by the Foundation to be the recipient of the first award and was also chosen for the Legacy Award to be named in his honor. The first annual Bill J. Jones’ Legacy Award was given to him at the first annual Derby Party on April 14, 2012. A permanent board-listing recipient was placed in the front hallway of the hospital.

The Foundation has chosen to honor Mr. Reuben and Mrs. Oline Reynolds.

For more than 57 years, the Reynolds were always a driving force in the Bainbridge community.

Any community project, from donating land for the local YMCA, donating the Bon-Air Hotel to the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation to encourage the growth and development of downtown Bainbridge, or helping the hospital, they were always there as patrons and with words of wisdom.

Mrs. Oline loved her roses and was a member of the World Federation of Rose Society with whom she was a nationally known and accredited rose judge. Mr. & Mrs. Reynolds were supporters of the Foundation contributing financially as well as their time.

Mrs. Oline was a founding member of our Foundation and served nine years before rotating off.

During one of her years as serving as Chairman of the Gala, Ms. Oline had her son, Jay do a fashion show at the Country Club, which was a big hit in Bainbridge and talked about for years.

It is with great pleasure that Memorial Hospital and Manor presents The Bill J. Jones Legacy Award to the Reynolds Family in Honor of Mrs. Oline and Mr. Reuben Reynolds, Jr.
