Fireman urges residents to have more visible addresses

How visible is your address from the street?
Not visible enough, according to Fowlstown volunteer fireman Robert Tate.
Tate said 30 percent of the calls his department responds to are slowed down by residents not having their address clearly visible for response teams.
Luckily, he is leading a project to eliminate this problem in Decatur County.
For $25, residents can call their local volunteer fire department and have delivered a sign with their address on it. The sign measures 12-by-6-inches and can be hammered into the ground. The numbers are reflective so they can be seen at night.
Tate said there were around 200 residents currently using the signs in Decatur County, but he hopes more will use them.
