Graveside funeral services for Martha Jane Brock Avery, 82, of Cairo, Georgia are at 11 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2015, in Brock Cemetery in Decatur County, Ga.  Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate.  Mrs. Avery passed away at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

Mrs. Avery was born on November 15, 1932, in Climax, Georgia, to the late Abner Brock and Mary Jane Brock.  In 1953, she married Charles D. Avery, who preceded her in death on February 15, 2005.  She worked with the Ithaca Company and the Torrington Company until her retirement.  She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: daughters, Gail Maxwell (Andy) of Cairo, Cindy Harvey (Billy Joe) of Cairo; grandchildren, Andrea Bentley (Coby) of Cairo, Lindsey Powe (Rusty) of Cairo, Katie Harvey of Cairo, Caroline Harvey of Cairo; great-grandchildren, Alexis Grace Maxwell of Cairo, Avery Claire Bentley of Cairo, Joshua Drew Powe of Cairo; brother, Randolph Brock (Janie) of Thomasville; sister, Lucille Lynn of Bainbridge, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Angela Kay Avery; brothers, Eldred Brock and Sanford Brock.
