Bainbridge CPA Perry Henry was chosen by the Decatur County Board of Commissioners Tuesday to act as interim county administrator as the board begins to assess resumes submitted by potential full-time applicants.
Henry emphasized his job as the interim county administrator was part time, noting he still had his primary business at Perry L. Henry LLC. But his goals for keeping the county on track during the transition phase were crystal clear to him, the county staff and the board.
“The goal is to keep services going through this transitional period, which I hope is short,” Henry said. “They understand that. The idea is to keep things going and work as a team. I’ll help them stay organized and coordinated in that.”
Decatur County Commission Chairman Dennis Brinson said Henry would be paid his regular CPA rate of $125 per hour.
Henry also said he would like to help the board implement the new service delivery strategy with the City of Bainbridge, which he was already prepared to assist in as the county’s CPA.
“We are looking to pull together for this short period of time,” Henry said. “Mostly what I’m going to handle is the financial stuff anyway. They are going to handle the decision making stuff, the Board of Commissioners.”
