The Bainbridge High School Bearcats placed three payers on the All Region 1-AAAA baseball team.
Bearcats coach Brian McCorkle said all three players, outfielder Anderson Bailey, who made first team All Region 1-AAAA, first baseman Seth Hall, who made second team All Region 1-AAAA, and catcher Blake Merchant, who made second team All Region 1-AAAA, were strong contributors to his teams success.
“Anderson Bailey had a breakout year,” coach McCorkle said. “He bated .333 overall and .378 against Region 1-AAAA teams. He had a .419 on base percentage, drove in 16 runs and scored 17 runs. He didn’t do anything fancy. He just got the job done with his bat and in the field.
Coach McCorkle described Seth Hall as a solid player who did a nice job at first base and stepped up against Region 1-AAAA opponents. He batted .277 overall and .353 against Region 1-AAAA opponents. He had a .463 on base percentage, drove in 13 runs and scored 10 runs.
Coach McCorkle said Blake Merchant did a nice job behind the plate and was one of his most consistent players all year. He batted .295 overall, and .372 against Region 1-AAAA opponents. He had a .518 on base percentage, drove in 10 runs and scored 7 runs.
