Daryl and Carolyn Long of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter Rebecca Carol Long to Edward Pharr “Ward” Cole Jr.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Edward “Red” and Annie Ruth Hurt and of Rogers and Evelyn Long.

Miss Long graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1999 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education in 2005 from the University of Georgia and a Master of Education from Southern Wesleyan University in 2009. She is employed as the Art teacher at Bainbridge High School.

The groom-to-be is the son of Ed and Starr Cole of Bainbridge and the grandson of Melvin and Florence “Flee” Nussbaum and of Homer and Sara Cole.

Mr. Cole graduated in 2004 from Bainbridge High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from the University of Georgia in 2009. He is employed with the Thomas County School System.

The wedding is planned for June 13 at 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Bainbridge.
