Coach Amy Thomas’s Region 1-AAAA champion Bainbridge High School Bearcats and third place finishing Lady Cats tennis teams are getting ready for the first round of the State Class AAAA Tournament
The Bearcats defeated the Cairo High School Syrupmakers and the Americus-Sumter County High School Panthers at the Region 1-AAAA Tournament in Americus to win the Region 1-AAAA Championship.
The Lady Cats, who finished third following a 2-3 Thursday loss to the Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets in Thomas County, will also advance to the State Class AAAA Tournament at the site of a second place team,
The Lady Cats match with the Lady Yellow Jackets was supposed to be played at the Region Tournament site in Americus but it was switched to Thomas County because of rain
The Bearcats will host a fourth place team from another Class AAAA Region and the Lady Cats will play a second place team from another Class AAAA Region on the road in the first round of the State Class AAAA Tournament.
