Downtown Bainbridge preps for Art & Wine Walk

Art lovers and wine connoisseurs, rejoice. The third annual Art & Wine Walk is hitting Downtown Bainbridge April 17.
This year there will be 10 businesses featuring the art of 10 local artists, downsizing from last year’s 20.
“It’s a good problem to have,” said Downtown Development Authority executive director Amanda Glover. “We had so many businesses last year, it was harder for people to get around, so we condensed it a little bit.”
Glover said a big positive of the downsize is keeping everything closer together and centralized to downtown.
“I hope people come and enjoy the art and wine and then hang around downtown for dinner,” Glover said.
Starting at Willis Park, patrons can stroll and take in several pieces from local artists and get some background and meet the artists, all while sampling wine and snacks.
“I went last year, and it kind of helped inspire me to open a business downtown,” said Maiden South co-owner Jessica Allen. “It’s a great collaborative event with businesses, artists and restaurants.”
Maiden South will feature the photography of Mills Brock and will also open their back patio to visitors.
“We love downtown events, especially evening ones,” Allen said. “We hope everyone comes out for a good time.”
Advance tickets are $20, and day-of tickets are $25. The first 75 registrants will receive a commemorative stem-less wine glass for the tour.
There will also be live music at Willis Park during the event.
