Allean Earnest Alday, 86, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Calvary Assembly of God with Reverend Joe Earnest officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Assembly of God Cemetery with Jimmy Miller, Perry Miller, David Clyatt, Kyle Folds, Joey Earnest, Jason King, DeWayne Earnest, and Larry Earnest serving as active pallbearers.
The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Calvary Assembly of God. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Assembly of God, c/o Mrs. Dockie Earnest, 7194 Braswell Godby Road, Brinson, GA 39825. Mrs. Alday was born October 12, 1928 in Donalsonville, Ga., the daughter of John Bowen Earnest and Inez Murkerson Earnest. She was a dedicated homemaker who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and preparing food for the freezer. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and sewing. Mrs. Alday loved to play the piano and loved her church.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Alday King of Bainbridge; her
grandchildren, Denise Smiley, Karen Kirkland, Melinda King, Michael Kirkland and his wife, Katina, Jay King and his wife, Christin; her great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Rachel, Jessica, Joseph, Megan, Gracen, Landon, Anna Kate, Zack, Luke, Brinson, and Bowen; her three great-great-grandchildren, Zoey, AddaLynn, and Sydney; her siblings, Lawrence Earnest and Jeanette Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Luke Alday, her daughter, Shirley Dianne Kirkland and son in law, William Landon Kirkland; her siblings, Henry Earnest, Ralph Earnest, Dockie Earnest and Curtis Earnest.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
