Thanks for supporting River Town Days

Despite gray skies Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, the Bainbridge community definitely showed up to River Town Days 2015 this past weekend.
Thankfully, the weather never seriously affected any of the events, and a few may have even gotten sunburnt when the sun came out Saturday afternoon.
We want to say, “Thank you” to the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce for hosting and coordinating another successful River Town Days. It’s great fun for us to attend and cover the event every year. We also want to thank all the sponsors, vendors, volunteers, local officials and law enforcement that worked to make the weekend fun and safe for everyone.
Most importantly, we want to thank every person who visited the Earle May Boat Basin this weekend. Whether you came for the music, the rides, the food, the fishing or barbecue competitions, you are immensely appreciated and the reason this event continues to grow and be a success. It was a joy for us to see and interact with so many members of the community, especially so many smiling children.
Another big thank you goes to every attendee who purchased a barbecue sample tray on Saturday. Thirty of the barbecue competition teams donated some pulled pork for the People’s Choice Award, and the Decatur County Family Connection raised more than $3,000 from the tray sales.
We hope that everyone will continue to support the event and make it a weekend to look forward to every year in Bainbridge.
