Bainbridge Public Safety arrested two men Friday on drug charges.
Anthony Jerome Pope, 24, of 2452 Dothan Road in Bainbridge, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and sale/manufacture/distribution of methamphetamines, all of which are felony charges.
Anthony Parrish, 24, of 1600 Pullen Road in Tallahassee, Florida, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
BPS Investigator Captain Mark Esquivel said that he received a tip Friday afternoon that Pope had MDMA, a type of methamphetamine also known as “Molly,” on his person.
BPS Patrol Sergeant Terry Pait located and searched Pope and Parrish based off of a description from Esquivel’s informant. Officers found nine pieces of crack cocaine, nine capsules of Molly, a bag of Molly in powder form and five bags of marijuana on Pope’s person. They also found six bags of marijuana on Parrish’s person, Esquivel said.
Esquivel said that he has seen an increased number of cases involving Molly as the party drug catches on more.
