Doctor Mallory McRae’s Grace Christian Academy Cougars basketball team lost to Macon’s Windsor Academy Knights 77-55 Saturday in the Elite Eight round of the Georgia Independent School Association’s State Class AA Tournament in Macon.
Leading the way for the Cougars, who complete their season with a 19-8 record, were Jack McRae with 23 points and 11 rebounds, Noah Thomas with 13 points and six rebounds, T.J. Dudley with six points and Tray Webb with five points and seven rebounds.
Doctor McRae said he was proud of his team because they fought hard and, hung in until the very end and never gave up.
“Windsor applied a lot of pressure to the ball, and we didn’t handle that well,” the Cougars coach said. “We made too many turnovers to start the game off and got behind early. We weren’t able to recover after that. Windsor shot the ball really well and knocked down a bunch of 3-pointers. They were a super strong team and they are undefeated in their region this season.”
