 Jean S. Keener, 70, of Tiger, Georgia, went to be with the Lord February 20, 2015.

Jean was born in Rabun County the daughter of the late Ralph Curtis Shirley and Myrtle Craig Shirley Caudell. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, the Supper Club and the Dominoes Group. She served in every capacity in the local Woodmen Of The World Chapter. Jean was the AWANA director for many years at Liberty Baptist Church, and enjoyed her time as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Rabun County. What was most important to Jean was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Marcus Caudell, and one sister Mary Wilmot.

She is survived by her loving husband Harley Keener of Tiger; one son Marc Godby of Brinson; one step-son Edward Keener of Gainesville, Ga.; one daughter JoAnn Godby Lane of Donalsonville, Ga.; one step-daughter Cindy Bishop of Franklin, NC; one brother Sam Caudell of Eastanollee, Ga.; four sisters Betty Davis of Buford, Ga., Rena Blackwell and Beverly Miller, both of Westminster, SC, Marie Watts of Clayton, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Meed Kelley, Kati Godby, Taylor Godby, Austin Bishop, Megan Bishop, Davis Keener, Hamilton Keener, Truett Keener; three great-grandchildren Ryleigh Kelley, Conner Kelley, Brynleigh Bishop, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family received friends Sunday. February 22, 2015 at Beck Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Monday, February 23, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at Liberty Baptist Church Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Greg Rogers, Rev. Phillip Lowe, and Rev. Joe Sheffield officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Scott Cates conducting the committal.
