George G. Mobley, 64, of Whigham, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Poppell officiating and will conclude in the chapel.  Interment will be at Springhill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Stan Strickland, Jerry Thomas, Jerry Bell, Terry Parker, Ray Bishop, James “ Buddy” Mobley and Ben Strickland serving as active pallbearers.

Mr. Mobley was born September 20, 1950 in Whigham, the son of Daniel Eugene Mobley and Anna Cornelia Maxwell Mobley. George was a graduate of Whigham High School. He was a farmer and served his country in the National Guard. George was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Nichole M. Lee and her husband, Jason, of Bainbridge; his son, Martin Mobley and his fiancé, Bridgett Adams of Tifton, Ga.; his siblings, Wilma Brinson of Whigham, Ruth Elian of Thomasville, and James “ Buddy” Mobley and his wife Hazel of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Sybil Lee and Henry Lee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ronnie Mobley, Tommy Mobley, Kenneth Mobley, Jimmy Mobley.
