More than 100 employees at the BASF site in Attapulgus, Georgia, pledged $15,350 to United Way of Bainbridge-Decatur County during the 2015 fundraising campaign.
These funds will help 13 United Way partner agencies improve the education, health and well-being of citizens throughout Decatur County.
“Our employees recognize the good works that their United Way dollars make possible throughout the community,” said Scott Pounds, Site Director, BASF sites in Attapulgus and Savannah, Georgia, and member of the United Way of Bainbridge-Decatur County Board of Directors.
The level of giving from BASF employees has increased by more than 300 percent from $3,500 in 2010 and from 22 donors to more than 100.
“We are grateful for the ongoing support from BASF and its employees,” said Kimberly Walden, Chair of the United Way of Bainbridge-Decatur County. “It’s through such generosity and commitment that United Way is able to continue improving the quality of life in Decatur County. They make a difference in our community, and we can’t thank them enough for their support.”
Local agencies that receive support from United Way include the YMCA, Decatur County Family Connection and the Friendship House.
“The backbone of United Ways campaigns are corporate gifts and donations through payroll deduction,” Walden said. “When BASF runs a company campaign, their whole company gets on board with being supportive though the community. They have such fun through the campaign, they are able to raise a lot of money.”
