Emma Lee Josey Griffin

Sister Emma Lee Josey, 72, was born on January 1, 1943, a lifelong resident of Decatur County, to the late Willie B. Josey and Elvira Mims Josey of Decatur County. She met her best friend, the love of her life, Rev. Willie F. Griffin of Bainbridge, Georgia, and they entered holy matrimony on February 14, 1960.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2015, Sister Griffin was called home to spend eternity in heaven with her Precious Lord. She leaves to treasure and preserve her most precious memory: her devoted and steadfast husband of fifty-four years, Rev. Willie F. Griffin; their three children, Eric Griffin, Rev. Clarissa Martinelli, Anthony Griffin; and a host of sisters, brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Earth Angel, now hang your wings up in your heavenly mansion, for your earthly work has found favor with the Lord. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant! Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord!”

Visitation will be held at Bruton Mortuary on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 5-6 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (2714 Thomasville Rd, Bainbridge GA 39819) on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12 noon. A final viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 at this church.
