Crump, Shaw lead Bearcats over Seminole Co.

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats downed the Seminole County High School Indians 78-74 Tuesday in Donalsonville behind a 24-point performance by Tyree Crump and a 19-point effort by Trevon Shaw.
Joining Crump and Shaw in the Bearcats double figure-scoring column was Devontae Jones with 11. It was the last non-Region 1-AAAA game of the season for the Bearcats. They took a 1-1 region record into game against the visiting Albany High School Indians.
The Bearcats game with Cook County was originally scheduled for Adel, but the location was recently switched to Bainbridge.
Tuesday night’s game against Seminole County was close all the way. The Bearcats led by just three points, 56-53, at the end of the third quarter. They then outscored the Indians 22-21 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory. Jordan Harris of the Indians took game scoring honors with 31 points.
“The game with Seminole County was a good tune up for our Region 1-AAAA schedule down the stretch,” Bearcats coach Rickey McCullough said Wednesday. “It was another team effort with everybody contributing.”
McCullough said the Seminole County effort served as a good lead in to the rest of the Bearcats’ Region 1-AAAA schedules.
After the Bearcats Saturday night game here with Cook County, Dougherty of Albany will host the Bearcats Friday, Jan. 23, Monroe of Albany will visit the Bearcats Saturday, Jan. 24, Westover of Albany will host the Bearcats Tuesday, Jan. 27, Worth County will visit the Bearcats Friday, Jan. 30, the Bearcats will visit Thomas County Central High School Saturday, Jan. 31, and Americus-Sumter County will visit the Bearcats Friday, Jan. 6.
