Seven Bainbridge High School students were involved in a four-car accident Tuesday around 3 p.m.

A vehicle leaving the high school came over a ridge when the driver spotted a Bainbridge Public Safety patrol car on the side of the road. When the driver hit their brakes to slow down, the vehicle behind him glanced off the backside of his car.

Two more vehicles weren’t able to stop quickly enough before hitting the vehicle in front of them and swerving off the road.

Two of the individuals involved were sent to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

One of the drivers, according to Georgia State Patrol Sgt. Tracey Tabb, was a 15-year-old with a learner’s license.

“This is all due to inexperience,” Tabb said. “Everybody following too close and too fast for conditions.”
