On Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. there will be an annual meeting of the members of the Firehouse Arts Center, formerly known as the Bainbridge-Decatur Council for the Arts.
Following the meeting, there will be a 6:30 p.m. reception for the public, which opens the annual members arts show for those who wish to display their most recent work.
Although the organization boasts a current membership of 98, many are honorary members, or supporters of the arts.
According to board member Gerard Kwilecki, there are traditionally 10 to 15 members who regularly display, and he encourages those who are interested in placing their work in the upcoming show to bring it to the Firehouse Gallery on Monday, Jan. 12 . Each member may submit up to three pieces.
The organization is also seeking to enlarge its membership. Kwilecki said his goal is to hit 150 members for 2015. It is not necessary to be a producing artist, but merely to have an interest and love for the arts in order to belong.
Annual membership fees are $35 for singles, $60 for families. Additional categories are at $100 and $250.
